The Greater Manchester Walking Football League are pleased to announce that they are now members of the Walking Football Leagues Alliance. We felt the timing was right for the birth of this organisation in order to develop, support and unify the many walking football leagues across England.

The GMWFL will run a local league for Manchester based teams from 15th April until 8th July 2021. We have 24 teams from 10 separate clubs in three age categories who have committed to this temporary league.
Owing to the prolonged Coronavirus lockdown the Greater Manchester Walking Football League Spring season 2020 is now declared void.
Following the latest Government statement and advice from the Lancashire FA, the Greater Manchester Walking Football League has suspended all fixtures until further notice.

The Greater Manchester Walking Football League held a Referees Workshop today. This was run by Mick Hill and Alan Rose of the WFRA. A brilliant session by Mick and Alan that our referees thought was very well presented, beneficial and increased their knowledge and experience. See Gallery for photographs.

The final sessions of the Greater Manchester Walking Football 60s Autumn League were played on 5th and 12th December. With 21 teams involved the Champions and Runners Up were finally decided after a four month campaign. The report is HERE and the Gallery HERE.

As winners of the Rochdale Borough Sports & Culture Award for the initiative of the year 2019, the Greater Manchester Walking Football League is shortlisted in the overall Greater Manchester Sports Awards. This is contested by the 10 boroughs, Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.
The awards ceremony and dinner is at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire Cricket, on Friday 15th November.
